According to the World Happiness Report by the United Nations, which evaluates 143 countries, Finland ranked first for the seventh time. According to the report, Turkey rose to 98th place, and Afghanistan was chosen as the unhappiest country.
Last year, Turkey ranked 106th on the same list. The two non-European countries in the top ten were Australia and Israel. This year, the World Happiness Report for the first time separated data by age groups. It revealed that happiness levels among youth in Western countries are declining. The United States fell out of the top 20 for the first time since the report’s publication. While Finland ranked first in the overall average, the happiest country for youth was Lithuania.
