The number of Azerbaijani citizens traveling abroad has increased. Compared to January-February 2023, the total number of Azerbaijani citizens who traveled abroad grew by 36.0%, reaching 296.5 thousand people.
The number of Azerbaijani citizens traveling to Iran increased by 38.5%, to Georgia by 32.2%, to the Russian Federation by 30.6%, and to Turkey by 30.1%. Of the travelers, 37.9% went to Turkey, 21.9% to the Russian Federation, 9.7% to Georgia, 8.5% to Iran, and 22.0% to other countries. Men accounted for 68.2% of travelers, women 31.8%.
In January-February 2024, 67.7% of Azerbaijani citizens traveling abroad used air transport, 30.0% used railway and road transport, and 2.3% used maritime transport.
